The short version. For the full record, see the Record of Service.
I’m James Singleton, Mayor of Jersey Village, Texas — and this site is less about me than about the work.
I spent the first part of my career in public safety, as a peace officer, fire investigator, and emergency-management officer. More than a thousand investigations taught me how much the unglamorous details decide the outcome. I later moved into technology leadership, running IT for a public-safety organization, and into elected office as Mayor of Jersey Village.
That mix is the reason this site exists. I care about how cities actually work: the drainage project nobody notices until it fails, the budget line that quietly compounds, the plan that either guides decisions or gets ignored. I would rather write plainly about those things than campaign about them.
Less about me, more about the city — and a place to be held to what I write.
If something here is wrong, or you see it differently, tell me. The point of writing in public is to be corrected in public.
